Prefab cabins proposed for temporary housing
USA Today's Green House blog reports on prefab cabins proposed for temporary housing use in Haiti. The cabins are touted as being energy-efficient, which is a bonus, but notably do not include bathrooms so sanitation problems would remain. Some debate the wisdom in purchasing pre-made homes rather than providing jobs and funding for local builders. You can watch a video of the "space-age" cabins in action courtesy of the Miami Herald.
